SunSirs: Cement Prices in East China fell slightly
July 14 2023 10:34:21SunSirs(Selena)

According to the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs, the cement market in East China has been weak recently. The price was 340.00 RMB/ton at the beginning of last week, 337.00 RMB/ton at the weekend, down 0.88%, 16.58% month on month, and 11.78% year on year.

Recently, cement prices have declined in some parts of East China. The cement market has been mainly declining in the past three months, and prices continued to bottom out last week. Around July 5th, cement prices in areas such as Ma'anshan in Anhui Province decreased by 15 RMB/ton. Around July 10th, cement prices in Zhenjiang and other places in Jiangsu Province decreased by 10-15 RMB/ton. Currently, due to the continued weak market demand, cement prices are continuously decreasing. Recently, cement companies in various regions have started summer peak production, and the shutdown time and scope in some regions are gradually expanding, which is conducive to alleviating the pressure on cement inventory.

Recently, the price of steam coal has fluctuated and consolidated. The coal mines in the production area maintain normal production, and the coal supply side is relatively stable. Currently, state-owned large mines are actively ensuring supply, and the supply is basically maintained in a relatively loose state. Traders tend to have a cautious wait-and-see attitude, and the procurement pace has slowed down. The prices of coal mines with good sales in their production areas have started to rise, boosting the market.

Downstream funding issues are still ongoing, and demand recovery is poor. Specifically, the marginal investment in real estate has weakened again and is still bottoming out in the short term, with weak support for the cement market.

According to the prediction of SunSirs, production has been suspended in various parts of the country in the near future, with some regions experiencing tentative increases. Therefore, cement product analysts from Business Society believe that in the short term, the cement market will mainly experience a slight upward trend.
