SunSirs: China Thermal Coal Price was Weak and Stable Last Week (November 15-19)
November 22 2021 13:20:19SunSirs(Selena)

According to the monitoring data of SunSirs, the average market price from the beginning of the week to the weekend was about 1,086.25 RMB/ ton, up 76.41% year-on-year.

In terms of place of origin, the sales of coal in the main place of origin is relatively stable, and the coal price runs smoothly on the whole; In terms of ports, the release of coal production capacity is accelerated and the port inventory is significantly improved, but the power plant still needs to replenish the storage with the advent of the heating season. The quotation of traders is high and the actual transaction is less. Under the influence of policies, thermal coal plants mainly purchase on demand.

According to the monitoring of the Ministry of Commerce, the national coal price decreased from November 8 to November 14. Among them, the prices of thermal coal, No. 2 anthracite lump coal and coking coal were 1,076 RMB/ ton, 1,525 RMB/ ton and 1,427 RMB/ ton, down 3.5%, 0.5% and 0.2% respectively.

SunSirs analysts believe that at this stage, the production capacity of producing areas has been released, the tight supply situation has been alleviated, and the sales situation of coal mines in producing areas has improved. At present, most coal mines mainly guarantee supply; With the advent of the peak season of coal consumption in winter, the demand for replenishment of power plants is still. But now, under the influence of policy, the coal inventory has increased, the willingness to purchase is low, and most of them mainly purchase on demand, holding a cautious wait-and-see state. SunSirs believe that the price of China thermal coal is mainly weak in the later stage.
