SunSirs: Huatai Parked, Supply Decreased and Aniline Prices Rose Up (July 27-31)
August 03 2020 15:26:47SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to data from SunSirs’ bulk list, the price of aniline rose this week. On July 31, the price of aniline in Shandong was 4,200-43,30 RMB/ton, and the price of aniline in East China was 4,300-4,400 RMB/ton, an increase of 1.57% from last week.

Analysis review

In terms of cost, the listing price of pure benzene on Sunday (August 2) was 3,230-3,400 RMB/ton (average price of 3,370 RMB/ton), and the average price increased by 180 RMB/ton, or 5.64% from last week. Sinopec raised the listing price of pure benzene twice this week to 3,350 RMB/ton, a total increase of 250 RMB/ton from July 1. This week coincided with the end of the month to fill the gap, and the market spot transactions were more active; coupled with the sharp increase in external disk prices, the current lifting pressure was reduced, pushing the price of pure benzene to rise.

Nitric acid prices have stabilized this week, with the price in East China at 1,533.33 RMB/ton on July 31.

This week, Dongying Huatai's aniline plant was shut down for maintenance, and the market supply has decreased to a certain extent. In addition, the raw material pure benzene has risen several times this week, which has strong support, driving the focus of the aniline market to move upward. However, weak downstream demand still limits the growth of aniline.

Market outlook

In terms of cost, although the port inventory pressure still exists, after the end of the month, the pressure has been relieved to some extent. In addition, Sinopec raised the listing price, and the bottom support strengthened. It is expected that the pure benzene market will be stronger next week.

Supply and demand are in balance, and aniline prices are expected to stabilize next week.
