March 28 2024 10:29:33SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, as of March 25th, the average price of propylene oxide in the domestic market was based on 9,125.00 RMB/ton, which was basically unchanged compared to last Wednesday (March 20th).

Analysis review

Recently, there had been no significant fluctuation in the market price of propylene oxide, and it had mostly remained stable within a certain range. Negotiations on actual orders were the main focus. The main reason for the increase in quotes from propylene oxide manufacturers was that some units had reduced their load, market supply had been reduced, and supply side inventory was operating at a low level without pressure. Downstream purchased keeping up with market, and the trading atmosphere in the market had improved. New orders were still acceptable. In addition, during the cycle, the price of raw material liquid chlorine had risen, the raw material propylene had narrowed, and the cost support had increased. The propylene oxide market was operating stronger. On March 25th, the reference price for Shandong propylene oxide factory quotes was around 9,300-9,350 RMB/ton.

Cost side: According to the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs, the reference price for propylene on March 22 was 6,960.60 RMB/ton,, an increase of 1.31% compared to March 1 (6,870.75 RMB/ton,). Recently, the price of propylene raw material had slightly increased, with the main increase being the price of liquid chlorine raw material. The cost was still provided support for the propylene oxide market.

Market outlook

SunSirs' propylene oxide analyst believes that the market was operating strongly, with supply side support temporarily in place. However, downstream procurement had slowed down, and there was a strong wait-and-see attitude. It is expected that in the short term, the propylene oxide market will mainly focus on digesting the increase, and more attention should be paid to changes in raw material prices.
