Analysis review

Recently, the domestic industrial grade lithium hydroxide market had been on the rise. Recently, the price of upstream spodumene concentrate had been rising, and the upstream lithium carbonate market was operating with strong support from the cost side. Some supply side enterprises had relatively low inventory, and downstream high nickel ternary demand was still acceptable. The 3C digital market was mainly following steadily, and the downstream inquiry atmosphere had increased. However, the purchasing mentality was still cautious, and transactions were still mainly long-term orders. The focus of market negotiations was strong.

Upstream lithium carbonate: According to the monitoring of the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs, industrial grade lithium carbonate had continued to rise in recent times. On March 15, 2024, the domestic mixed average price of industrial grade lithium carbonate was 107,400 RMB/ton, an increase of 4.88% compared to the average price of 102,400 RMB/ton on March 10.

Market outlook

According to Lithium Hydroxide analysts from SunSirs, the cost side had recently shifted upwards and the market supply and demand had improved. However, a cautious wait-and-see attitude still existed, and the lithium hydroxide market may be slightly stronger in the short term. More attention still needs to be paid to changes in upstream raw materials and demand side.
