March 04 2024 14:47:34()

The grain trade data of the European Commission shows that the total import volume of EU grains has declined so far this year, mainly reflecting the recovery growth of corn production and reducing import demand. However, the increase in wheat imports, especially the surge in Durham imports, reflects a decline in EU Durham production.

On February 29, 2023, the European Commission estimated that the EU durham production for 2023/24 would be 6.99 million tons, which is consistent with the previous month's forecast and lower than the previous year's 7.46 million tons; The estimated import volume is 2.8 million tons, which is consistent with last month's forecast and higher than the previous year's 2.04 million tons.

As of February 22, 2023/24 (starting from July 1), the grain import volume of the 27 EU countries was 21277705 tons, a decrease of 26% compared to 2022/23. The previous report showed a year-on-year decrease of 27%.

The import volume of wheat was 6181653 tons, which remained unchanged from the same period last year. The previous report showed a year-on-year increase of 1%.

The import volume of Durham wheat was 1804604 tons, a year-on-year increase of 56%. The previous report showed a year-on-year increase of 55%.
