SunSirs: The Market WasWeak, and the Price of Potassium Sulfate Was Falling
February 26 2024 10:30:33SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to the monitoring of the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs, the price of potassium sulfate with a 50% content at the beginning of this week was 3,450 RMB/ton, and the price of potassium sulfate with a 50% content at the end of this week was 3,433 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.48%.

Analysis review

The domestic potassium sulfate market was weak, with some Mannheim potassium sulfate manufacturers undergoing brief maintenance during the Spring Festival and quickly recovering after the holiday. The overall supply of goods was sufficient, and most factories had a certain amount of pending orders before the Spring Festival, waiting for logistics transportation to gradually return to normal. As of February 23rd, the factory price of Mannheim potassium sulfate 52% powder was mostly 3,150-3,500 RMB/ton, and the factory price of granular potassium sulfate was mostly 3,300-3,400 RMB/ton. The actual transaction price was mainly negotiated.

After the Spring Festival holiday, the recovery of downstream compound fertilizer factories had been relatively slow, and there was still a large inventory of finished products in the factory. There was already a certain amount of raw material procurement reserves before the year, but in recent times, logistics transportation had been the main focus, and the procurement of potassium fertilizer and other raw materials was not active.

Market outlook

The domestic potassium fertilizer market had shown a lackluster response, and it is expected that the domestic potassium fertilizer market prices will mainly fluctuate and weaken in the short term.
