According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, as of February 19th, the price of DOP was 11,820 RMB/ton, an increase of 0.08% compared to the price of 11,810 RMB/ton on February 9th before the holiday; Compared to the price of 11,780 RMB/ton on February 1st, the price fluctuated and increased by 0.34%. The price of raw material 2-EH had increased, the cost of plasticizer DOP had increased, and the price of DOP had stabilized strongly; During the Spring Festival, the production of plasticizer enterprises decreased, and some enterprises stopped, with a production rate of less than 30%. After the holiday, plasticizer enterprises resumed production, and the supply of plasticizer DOP increased.

After the holiday, the price of 2-EH fluctuated and increased

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, as of February 19th, the quotation for 2-EH was 12,450 RMB/ton, a fluctuating increase of 0.81% compared to the quotation for 2-EH on February 9th before the holiday, which was 12,350 RMB/ton; Compared to the price of 12,375 RMB/ton on February 1st at the beginning of the month, the price increased by 0.61%. During the Spring Festival, the operating load of 2-EH enterprises decreased, but there was some recovery after the holiday. In addition, downstream customers restocked, and the demand for 2-EH slowly rebounded. During the Spring Festival, the price of 2-EH remained high, and after the holiday, the price of 2-EH slightly increased.

Market outlook

SunSirs’ plasticizer product data analysts believe that during the Spring Festival, plasticizer manufacturers had seen a decrease in production, but after the holiday, plasticizer production had resumed, and the supply of plasticizers had increased. In addition, the price of 2-EH had risen, leading to an increase in the cost of plasticizer DOP. In the future, as the cost of plasticizers increases and supply increases, the support for DOP increases is limited, and downward pressure still exists. It is expected that DOP prices will be weakly consolidated in the future.
