SunSirs: Refrigerant Prices Fluctuated and Moved Forward in August

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, as of August 31, the average price of refrigerant R22 was 21,100.00 RMB/ton, a slight decrease of 0.78% compared to the beginning of the month's price of 21,266.67 RMB/ton, and an increase of 20.57% compared to the same period last year.

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, as of August 31, the average price of refrigerant R134a was 24,766.67 RMB/ton, which was generally unchanged from the beginning of the month and increased by 1.78% compared to the same period last year.

Analysis review

In August, the upstream raw material prices of R22 remained stable and weaker. Suppressed the lower cost, the market price of domestic R22 was stable and weaker overall. Supported by the high demand season for refrigerants in summer, the domestic R22 price fluctuated forward slightly overall. At the end of the month, the price of chloroform bottomed out and rebounded, rising by 8.85% within the month. The price of hydrofluoric acid rebounded in the later part of the month, rising by 3.52% within the month. The sustained rebound in raw material costs will provide strong support for the R22 market price in September.

In August, the domestic price of trichloroethylene continued to operate at a low level during the month, while the price of hydrofluoric acid rebounded at the end of August, with an overall increase of 3.52%. The overall cost of upstream raw materials continued to fluctuate and move forward. The overall price of R134a was in a dilemma, and the quotation of enterprises remained stable overall. In August, the domestic price of R134a remained stable and moved forward.

In terms of raw materials, domestic hydrofluoric acid prices bottomed out and rebounded at the end of the month, rising by 3.52% within the month. A slight increase in raw material costs will provide some support for the future price of R134a.

Market outlook

According to refrigerant analysts from SunSirs, the cost of raw materials rebounded comprehensively at the end of August, and with the support of higher costs, it is expected that there will be varying degrees of room for domestic R22 and R134a prices to rise in September.
