1  Price Trend

In January, the market price of NBR (acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber) was weak and stable. According to the monitoring of SunSirs, the price of NBR at the beginning of the month was 16,333 RMB/ ton, and the price at the end of the month was 16,200 RMB/ ton. At the end of the month, the price slightly decreased by 0.82% compared with the beginning of the month, and the overall weak and stable.

2  Market Trend Analysis

NBR supply slightly reduced

According to SunSirs, the supply of nitrile in the domestic market was sufficient at the beginning of January, but decreased slightly in the later period, among which, the supply of Lanhua nitrile was slightly reduced, while the supply of some brands of Nandi and Jinpu nitrile was tight, and the overall supply was slightly lower than that in December 2019.

Decline of raw material price drags the price of nitrile

In January, the price of raw material butadiene fell slightly, which was negative for NBR. According to the monitoring of SunSirs, the price of butadiene was 8,312 RMB/ ton at the beginning of January and 8,056 RMB/ ton at the end of the month, down 3.08% from the beginning of the month.

Downstream demand light drags on NBR

Affected by environmental factors and Spring Festival factors, some factories in North China and other places were not willing to prepare goods before the festival. The overall transaction atmosphere was weak, and the nitrile market was in a weak state. At present, the whole situation is still light.

3  Future Prospects

SunSirs analysts believe that on one hand, the price of raw material butadiene is low, on the other hand, the demand for NBR is insufficient, and it is expected that the price of NBR will continue to be weak in the later stage.
