May 11 2023 09:51:14SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, cement in East China recently experienced a weak decline. The price for this week was 407.00 RMB/ton, while the price at the weekend was 404.00 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.74% and a month on month decrease of 4.49%. The current price dropped by 19.20% compared to last year.

Analysis review

Recently, cement in some areas of East China has slightly declined. From the data of SunSirs, it can be seen that the cement market was mainly declining recently, and prices continued to decline this week. Around May 9th, the price of cement in Wuxi, Jiangsu decreased by 15-20 RMB/ton. Recently, there have been more rainy weather in East China, the construction progress on the construction site was slow, market competition was intensifying, and the shipment volume of enterprises was about 60-70%, resulting in a weak decline in cement prices.

This week, the price of thermal coal remained stable. In terms of origin, most coal mines maintained normal production, overall operating rates were relatively stable, and coal supply remained at a high level. Domestic coal prices continued to be weak, and the market trading atmosphere was relatively cold. There were relatively few coal hauling vehicles on the mine as a whole. In terms of downstream ports, port prices were weak and the market trading atmosphere was average. Downstream demand was mainly based on on-demand procurement. The coal price was adjusted in a narrow range based on sales, and the overall price was stable.

Downstream funding issues were still ongoing, and demand recovery was poor. Specifically, the marginal investment in real estate was weakened again and was still bottoming out in the short term, with weak support for the cement market.

Market outlook

According to the prediction of SunSirs, the demand in the cement market continued to be weak recently, with high inventory. Therefore, analysts of SunSirs’ cement products believe that in the short term, the cement market will mainly decline.
