According to the Malaysian Department of Statistics on September 12, natural rubber exports in July 2025 fell 22.8% year-on-year to 37,198 tons, but increased 25.2% month-on-month. Of this, 47.3% went to China, followed by Germany (15%), India (6.7%), the United States (6.1%), and Egypt (3%).

Malaysia's natural rubber imports in July were 56,874 tons, down 0.2% year-over-year and up 0.8% month-over-month. Standard rubber, concentrated latex, and other forms of natural rubber were the main import categories, with Thailand, Côte d'Ivoire, the Philippines, and Myanmar as the main import sources.

Total monitored natural rubber production in July was 35,884 tons, down 5.5% year-over-year and up 36.7% month-on-month. Small plantations accounted for 86.8% of this, while state-owned plantations accounted for 13.2%.

In July, Malaysia's natural rubber inventory reached 171,061 tons, up 1.6% month-over-month and 15.5% year-on-year. Of this total, 85.1% was held by rubber processors, 14.8% by downstream end users, and 0.1% by large plantation owners.

In July, domestic natural rubber consumption increased by 6.7% year-on-year to 22,446 tons, a 15.8% increase month-on-month. The latex glove industry remained the primary consumer of natural rubber in Malaysia, accounting for 66.4% of consumption. Tires and hoses accounted for 9.3%, rubber cord accounted for 12.1%, and other industries, such as rubber shoes, contributed 12.2%.
