1. [US Consumer Confidence Index] The US consumer confidence index in December further declined to 89.1 from a revised 92.9 in November, marking the fifth consecutive month of decline and the lowest level since April of this year.

2. [European Central Bank] European Central Bank Governing Council member Yannis Stournaras stated that the ECB is currently in a "good position," but must be prepared to adjust monetary policy direction at any time if necessary. The Greek official said, "We must maintain policy flexibility and be ready to adjust policy interest rates at any time. If the actual situation is better or worse than expected, we will take corresponding action."

3. [European Automotive] According to the latest data released by the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA), EU passenger car sales increased by 2.1% to 887,491 units in November 2025.  Cumulative sales for the first 11 months increased by 1.4% year-on-year to 9.86 million units.

Plastics and Rubber

1. [PE] At 10:58 PM on December 21st, the BASF (Guangdong) 500,000 tons/year polyethylene plant, contracted by Huanqiu Company, successfully produced qualified products, marking the smooth completion of the entire process and successful one-time commissioning!

2. [PE] On December 23rd, Ningxia Baofeng PE plant dynamics: Due to losses, the load was recently reduced by 20%. The full-density plant produces 8008, the second-phase low-pressure plant produces 5502S, and the third-phase low-pressure plant produces 23050.

3. [PE] On December 23rd, Maoming Petrochemical's #1 LDPE plant produced 951-050; the #2 LDPE plant began major maintenance on November 26th, with commissioning planned for January 1st, 2026; the full-density plant produced 7042; the HDPE plant began major maintenance on November 24th, with commissioning planned for January 31st, 2026. Maoming Petrochemical LDPE (South China Branch) 2426H was quoted at 9,000 RMB/ton, a decrease of 100 RMB/ton.

4. [ABS] In November 2025, my country's total exports of primary ABS amounted to 38,900 tons, an increase of 16.05% compared to October (33,500 tons). Total imports were 68,000 tons, an increase of 9.63% compared to October (62,000 tons).

5. [EPS] In November 2025, my country's total PS exports amounted to 39,400 tons, an increase of 29.46% compared to October (30,400 tons). Total imports were 29,100 tons, a decrease of 6.09% compared to October (31,000 tons). Total EPS exports were 42,300 tons, an increase of 31.89% compared to October (32,000 tons). Total imports were 620 tons, a decrease of 34.42% compared to October (945.5 tons). 6. [PC] In November 2025, my country's total exports of primary-form polycarbonate amounted to 51,900 tons, a 14.51% increase compared to October (45,300 tons). Total imports were 51,900 tons, a 19.70% decrease compared to October (64,600 tons).

7. [PP] In November 2025, my country's total exports of primary-form polypropylene amounted to 224,100 tons, an 8.54% increase compared to October (206,400 tons). Total imports were 179,200 tons, a 5.97% increase compared to October (169,200 tons).

8. [PVC] In November 2025, PVC imports were 15,700 tons, with cumulative imports from January to November reaching 202,100 tons.  Monthly imports in November increased by 44.15% month-on-month, but decreased by 1.70% year-on-year. Cumulative imports from January to November increased by 1.46% year-on-year.

9. [SBR] In November 2025, China's styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) imports were 38,723.71 tons, a 5.45% increase month-on-month; SBR exports were 27,199.38 tons, a 26.92% increase month-on-month.

10. [NBR] In November 2025, my country's nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) latex imports were 13,423.66 tons, an 18.11% decrease month-on-month; NBR latex exports were 7,364.97 tons, a 0.39% decrease month-on-month.

11. [BR] In November 2025, China's butadiene rubber (BR) imports were 27,930.82 tons, a 5.75% increase month-on-month; BR exports were 26,962.98 tons, a 23.97% increase month-on-month. 12. [Natural Rubber] According to the latest report released by ANRPC in November 2025, global natural rubber production in November is projected to decrease by 2.6% to 1.474 million tons, a 1.5% decrease compared to the previous month; natural rubber consumption is projected to decrease by 1.4% to 1.248 million tons, a 0.9% decrease compared to the previous month. For the first eleven months of the year, cumulative global natural rubber production is projected to increase by 2% to 13.375 million tons, while cumulative consumption is projected to decrease by 1.7% to 13.932 million tons.
