SunSirs: The Upstream Space Is Enough After The Bromine Market Rose Steadily in September

September 27 2019 10:55:08     SunSirs (John)

Price trend

According to the data of SunSirs, bromine market in China rose steadily in September and is expected to continue to rise in the future. At the beginning of the month, the average price of bromine in China was about 30,187 RMB/ton, and at the end of the month, it was about 30,687 RMB/ton. The average price rose 1.66% in the month, and fell 3.06% compared with the same period of last year.

Analysis review

Product: The domestic bromine market started relatively low this month. Affected by the National Day environmental security inspection, many enterprises in North China have stopped. The overall starting rate in Shandong is not high and the inventory is low. It is expected that the recovery time will be around the middle of October. However, after the weather turns cold, the bromine production will gradually reduce and the spot supply of the market will become scarce. At present, the mainstream quotation of enterprises is around 30500 RMB/ton.

Industry chain: The upstream industry of bromide rose and fell unevenly this month: the demand for sulphur market was not good, fell by 16.35% in the month, and now it is around 580 RMB/ton; the caustic soda market was affected by the news of shutdown and transportation restriction brought by the National Day, and it rose by 20.57% in the month, and now it is about 850 RMB/ton; the soda market is quiet and stable, and the market price mentality is strong, with an average price of 1740 RMB/ton at present. The demand for sulphuric acid in the downstream market is not good, falling by 5.8% in the month, and is currently about 216 RMB/ton. At present, the downstream flame retardant industry of bromine is inadequate due to the influence of National Day. It is expected that the demand for bromine will increase after the National Day holiday, which will support the price of bromine well. Industries such as pharmaceutical and agricultural intermediates will start to work smoothly under the influence of environmental protection and purchase demand.

Market outlook

The data analysts from SunSirs believe that, affected by the National Day, the overall supply and demand of domestic bromine market are weak, and it is expected to run steadily in a short period of time. After the holiday, some parking enterprises will resume production. With the cooling of the weather, some seawater bromine enterprises will enter the shutdown period, and the spot supply will be tightened to a certain extent. In the long-term, domestic bromine prices will rise.
