SunSirs: Demand Weakened, and the Dichloroethane Market Was Operating Weakly in Early April
April 16 2024 10:01:43SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, the average market price of dichloroethane in China on April 12th was 2,726 RMB/ton, and on April 1st, the average market price of dichloroethane in China was 2,760 RMB/ton. The price of dichloroethane had decreased by 1.21% within the month.

Analysis review

In early April, the dichloroethane market continued its downward trend in late March, with a narrow decline. The trading atmosphere in the market was still good, and downstream procurement weakened, with procurement being on demand.

Cost wise: In early April, the Asian ethylene market remained stable with an average CFR price of 930 US dollars per ton in Northeast Asia. The domestic ethylene quotation in East China was 7,500 RMB/ton, which was unchanged from the beginning of the month.

Demand side: The domestic PVC market lacked domestic demand power, and the downstream real estate industry was still in a weak state with high inventory. As of April 12, the quotation for ethylene based PVC in the East China region was 6,000 RMB/ton, a decrease of 150 RMB/ton from the beginning of the month, and the market continued to fluctuate at a low level.

Market outlook

SunSirs' dichloroethane analyst believes that the cost side market was stable, and the demand side was weak, making it difficult to drive the dichloroethane market. It is expected that the price of dichloroethane will continue to be weaker in the near future.
