March 08 2024 11:01:20SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs the average market price of n-butanal in China was 8,450 RMB/ton on March 1st, and 8,525 RMB/ton on March 7th. In early March, the price of n-butanal increased by 0.87%.

Analysis review

In terms of cost: According to the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs, the average price of propylene in the domestic market was 6,870 RMB/ton on March 1st, and 7,070 RMB/ton on March 7th. In early March, the price of propylene increased by 2.91%. Due to the sustained high prices of propylene raw materials, some butyraldehyde manufacturers had raised prices along with the raw materials.

Downstream: As we entered March, the domestic n-butanol market in Shandong continued its downward trend from the end of February. As of March 7th, the low-end price of n-butanol was still available for trading, but the overall atmosphere on the market was limited. The overall supply of some n-butanol in Shandong region wa relatively loose, and some factories were under certain supply pressure. Therefore, as of March 7th, n-butanol factories were mainly actively offering discounts for shipments, and the overall transaction focus of n-butanol was constantly moving downwards. Some factories had quoted prices of n-butanol below 8,000 RMB/ton. As of March 6th, the domestic market price of n-butanol in Shandong region was around 7,900-8,300 RMB/ton.

Market outlook

SunSirs' butyraldehyde analyst believes that the recent support from raw material prices and costs was still ongoing, and downstream low-end prices were still available for trading, waiting for the release of terminal demand. It is expected that the price of butyraldehyde will remain stable in the short term, and it is recommended to pay attention to changes in the raw material market.
