On October 9th, international crude oil futures surged significantly. The settlement price of the main contract for WTI crude oil futures in the United States was $86.38 per barrel, up $3.59 or 4.3%. The settlement price of the main contract for Brent crude oil futures was $88.15 per barrel, an increase of $3.57 or 4.2%.
