SunSirs: The Market Situation of ECH Rose (September 1-7)
September 08 2023 10:34:04SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, as of September 7th, the average price of ECH quoted by ECH enterprises was 8,275.00 RMB/ton, an increase of 0.61% compared to September 1st and a decrease of 28.04% compared to the same period last year.

Analysis review

Since September, the market for ECH was operating steadily. Recently, the price of raw material glycerol was mainly stable, while the price of raw material propylene was high, and the cost support was strong. The industry's capacity utilization rate was below 50%. At the beginning of the month, the supply side was tight, supporting manufacturers' price supportive mentality. Downstream companies mainly followed up just in needed, with a strong cautious wait-and-see attitude. On the 7th, the mainstream negotiations in the Shandong ECH market were around 8,200-8,400 RMB/ton.

Upstream propylene, according to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, on September 6th, the reference price for propylene was 7,288.25 RMB/ton, an increase of 2.46% compared to September 1st (7,113.25 RMB/ton).

Downstream epoxy resin, according to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, the reference price of epoxy resin on September 6th was 14,366.67 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.69% compared to September 1st (14,466.67 RMB/ton).

Market outlook

Analysts from SunSirs believe that as of September 7th, there was still cost support for ECH, and factory inventory was not under pressure. However, supply was expected to increase, and downstream companies were cautious in following up. It is expected that the ECH market may operate at a high level in the short term, and more attention still needs to be paid to changes in the supply side of the market.
