SunSirs: China Egg Prices rise during Peak Stocking Season
August 28 2023 15:03:01SunSirs(Selena)

According to the monitoring of the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, the egg price was 10.66 RMB/kg at the beginning of last week, and 10.76 RMB/kg at the end of last week. The price increased by 0.94%, and the price increased by 3.46% compared to the same period last year.

The number of areas affected by high temperature weather in China has decreased, and the egg production rate of laying hens will steadily recover. The number of new laying hens in China continues to steadily increase, and cold storage eggs are gradually starting to be released. It is expected that the market supply will be small. Currently, the number of new laying hens in the market has only slightly increased, and the supply of large sized eggs is still tight, with little overall supply impact.

The peak season for double season stocking is approaching, and there is a relatively general willingness for bullish aftermarket in various links. Breeding units are becoming increasingly interested in price support, and the demand in sales areas is driving the enthusiasm of traders to enter. The purchasing volume of food factories has increased month on month, and the overall pace of purchase and sales is smooth.

The demand is gradually entering the peak stocking season, and it is expected that egg prices may fluctuate slightly in the short term.
