SunSirs: China Coking Coal Price temporarily Stabilized Last Week
September 15 2022 10:11:22SunSirs(Selena)

According to the monitoring of SunSirs, the price of coking coal was temporarily stable last week. The average market price from the beginning of the week to the end of the week was about 2,438.33 RMB/ ton, down 30.73% compared with the same period last year. On September 12, the energy index was 1,148, unchanged from the previous day, 26.46% lower than the highest point of 1,561 (2021-10-21) in the cycle, and 124.66% higher than the lowest point of 511 on March 1, 2016. (Note: the cycle refers to the period from December 1, 2011 to the present)

In terms of origin, the coking coal price has been consolidated and operated as a whole. Affected by the epidemic situation and safety, the overall supply of coking coal has shrunk, and the willingness to support the price is strong. Last week, the first round of raising and lowering of coke was implemented, with a decrease of 100-110 RMB/ ton. The operating rate of coking enterprises remained stable last week, and the enterprises were active in shipping. Because the downstream procurement was not active in the near future, and the traders were also less active in getting goods, the inventory of some coke enterprises increased slightly. The purchase rhythm of coke to coking coal slows down.

From the perspective of SunSirs coking coal analysts, the overall price of coking coal has been consolidated in the near future, the downstream coke market has been raised and lowered recently, and the willingness to purchase coking coal has been reduced. The purchase of coking coal is still based on demand, and the willingness to purchase is general. The overall price of China coking coal will be mainly stable, depending on the downstream market demand.
