September 09 2022 11:03:30SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to the monitoring data of SunSirs, as of September 8, 2022, the average ex-factory price of domestic industrial-grade dimethyl carbonate was 6,383 RMB/ton, which is basically the same as that of September 5, 2022, and compared with September 1, 2022 (the reference price of dimethyl carbonate was 6,450 RMB/ton), the price was reduced by 67 RMB/ton, a decrease of 1.03%.

Analysis review

This week (9.5-9.8), the overall domestic dimethyl carbonate market remained weak and stable. At the beginning of September, the domestic dimethyl carbonate market fell slightly. Affected by the lack of support on the demand side, the gold September effect of the dimethyl carbonate market did not appear, and the trading atmosphere in the market was general. Entering this week, the market for dimethyl carbonate was weak, and some units were shut down to support the market. However, the demand side was still relatively calm, and most of the purchases continued to be just-needed. As of September 6, the domestic ex-factory price of dimethyl carbonate was around 6,200-6,600 RMB/ton, a decrease of 1.03% compared with the beginning of the month.

On the upstream side of propylene oxide, since September (9.1-9.7), the overall propylene oxide market has shown an upward trend. According to the data monitoring of SunSirs, on September 7, the reference price of propylene oxide was 9,916.67 RMB/ton, an increase of 5.87% compared with September 1 (9,366.67 RMB/ton).

Market outlook

At present, as the Mid-Autumn Festival is approaching, downstream users have started stocking up before the festival one after another. The trading atmosphere in the market is expected to change, and some dimethyl carbonate factories are also offering high prices. The dimethyl carbonate data engineer of SunSirs believes that in the short term, the overall domestic dimethyl carbonate market may recover slightly, and the specific trend needs to pay more attention to the news changes on the supply and demand side.
