According to the monitoring data of SunSirs, the average price of domestic methanol from production enterprises on May 5 was 2,712 RMB/ton, a decrease of 1.18% from the previous working day and a year-on-year increase of 5.96%.

Analysis review

On May 5th, the methanol futures of Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange fluctuated strongly. The main contract MA2209 closed at 2,784 RMB/ton in late trading, up 75 RMB/ton or 3.46% from the previous close.

In terms of spot, some methanol plants have gradually recovered from the early parking, and the market supply may rebound slightly in the near future. After the May 1st Labor Day, downstream factories also have new needs for replenishment, and the relationship between supply and demand has opened a new round of game.
