The methanol market in the Henan region experienced a slight decline. Auction transactions by companies were reported at 2,020 RMB/ton (ex-factory, cash payment); negotiations in the Luoyang market were referenced at 2,010-2,020 RMB/ton (ex-tank, cash payment).

Methanol producers in the Shandong region were maintaining stable ex-factory prices. In the Dongying area of Shandong province, methanol market prices were being negotiated at 2,110-2,120 RMB/ton (cash payment, on delivery). In the Zibo area of Shandong, methanol market prices are being negotiated at 2,120-2,130 RMB/ton, cash on delivery; in central Shandong, local methanol factories were quoting 2,200 RMB/ton (ex-factory, self-pickup), stable. Jining methanol ex-factory prices were referenced at 2,135-2,140 RMB/ton (ex-factory. cash payment), with some transactions occurring. Linyi delivered prices were referenced at 2,180-2,200 RMB/ton (cash paymetn, on delivery).

On January 22, 2026, the closing price of methanol futures at the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange rose. The main methanol futures contract 2605 opened at 2,215 RMB/ton, reached a high of 22,60 RMB/ton, a low of 2,212 RMB/ton, and closed at 2,260 RMB/ton, an increase of 45 RMB/ton compared to the previous trading day's settlement price, a rise of 2.03%. The trading volume was 1,076,253 lots, the open interest was 817,171 lots, and the daily change in open interest was -31,791 lots.
