According to the statistics bureau of the Brazilian Foreign Trade Secretariat, Brazil's cotton exports have fallen in both volume and price so far in May.
Exports from May 1 to 23 were 157,738 tons, while May 2024 was 229,434 tons.
The average daily export volume so far in May was 9,859 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 9.8%.
Cotton export revenue so far in May was US$250 million, and May 2024 was US$450 million.
The average export price in May was US$1,609.3/ton, a year-on-year decrease of 17.7% (US$1,954.6/ton in the same period of 2024).
For reference, exports in April were 239,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 0.9%.
Exports in March were 239,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 5.3%.
