SunSirs: Raw Materials Declined and the Price of Potassium Sulfate Declined
January 17 2024 10:55:14SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to the monitoring of the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs, the price of potassium sulfate with a 50% content at the beginning of this week was 3,543 RMB/ton, and the price of potassium sulfate with a 50% content at the end of this week was 3,510 RMB/ton, with a price increase of 0.94%.

Analysis review

The domestic potassium sulfate market was affected by the price of raw material potassium chloride, and the price continued to decline, with a decrease of 50-100 RMB/ton. The production of resource-based potassium sulfate manufacturers was normal, and most of the previous orders were being executed gradually. As of January 12th, the market price of 52% potassium powder in SDIC Luobupo Pltash Co, ltd. was mostly between 3,600-3,700 RMB/ton, and the market price of 50% potassium powder in Qinghai was mostly between 3,450-3,500 RMB/ton. The actual transaction varied slightly in different regions.

The overall operating rate of downstream compound fertilizer factories had been continuously declining recently, especially for small and medium-sized compound fertilizer factories who had stated that they had no plans to resume production before the year, and the operating rate of some large compound fertilizer factories was also weakening. Therefore, the demand for raw materials was not sufficient, and procurement was limited.

Market outlook

The supply-demand contradiction in the domestic potassium fertilizer market was quite prominent, and there was a lack of positive support in the short term. It is expected that the domestic potassium fertilizer market prices will be mainly weak and declining in the short term.
