SunSirs: The Price of White Granulated Sugar Falls in the New Pressing Season in China

According to the monitoring of SunSirs, the average price of the first grade white granulated sugar at the beginning of this week was 5,730 RMB/ton, and the average price of the first grade white granulated sugar at the weekend was 5,696 RMB/ton, down 0.59% and 1.21% compared with the same period last year.

The quotation of old sugar is 5,500 RMB/ton, and that of new sugar is 5,550-5,770 RMB/ton. The import cost within the quota is about 5,260-5,300 RMB/ton, and the import cost outside the quota is about 6,700-6,760 RMB/ton. By the end of November, the country had produced 850,000 tons of sugar in 2022/2023, an increase of 90,000 tons over the same period of the previous year. The country had sold 150,000 tons of sugar, with a cumulative sugar sales rate of 18.2%, 4 percentage points slower than the same period of the previous year.

It is estimated that there will be 74 sugar mills in Guangxi in the new press season, which will be the same as that in the last press season. As of November 30, 31 sugar mills had opened in Guangxi, a year-on-year decrease of 4; The accumulated sugar cane output was 1.1452 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 43,000 tons; 100,800 tons of mixed sugar was produced, with a year-on-year increase of 5,900 tons; The mixed sugar production rate was 8.80%, with a year-on-year increase of 0.81 percentage points; The accumulated sugar sales reached 67,300 tons, a year-on-year increase of 25,100 tons; The production and marketing rate is 66.77%.

The market lacks positive news to boost, and the overall trend of white granulated sugar is weak, which is expected to be dominated by shock and weak trend in the short term.
