SunSirs: Urban–Rural Price Dynamics of Livestock Products and Feed – Week 1 January 2026

According to the monitoring of 500 county-level agricultural markets and collection points across the country, in the first week of January (with the collection date being December 31), the prices of pig products, eggs, beef, mutton, corn, and soybean meal increased month-on-month. The prices of commercial meat chicks and live cattle decreased month-on-month. The prices of chicken, commercial egg chicks, fresh milk, and compound feed remained unchanged month-on-month.

Prices of live pig products. The national average price of piglets was 23.45 CNY per kilogram, up 1.3% from the previous week and down 28.4% year-on-year. The prices of piglets rose in 23 provinces including Liaoning, Shanghai, Fujian, Jiangsu and Jiangxi, fell in 5 provinces including Tianjin, Guizhou, Qinghai, Guangdong and Yunnan, and remained flat in Ningxia. The price in South China was relatively high, at 27.58 CNY per kilogram; the price in North China was relatively low, at 21.72 CNY per kilogram. The national average price of live pigs was 12.61 CNY per kilogram, up 3.4% from the previous week and down 23.9% year-on-year. The prices of live pigs rose in 28 provinces including Zhejiang, Beijing, Shandong, Henan and Shanghai, and fell in Hainan and Qinghai. The price in Southwest China was relatively high, at 13.37 CNY per kilogram; the price in Northeast China was relatively low, at 11.96 CNY per kilogram. The national average price of pork was 22.80 CNY per kilogram, up 1.4% from the previous week and down 17.8% year-on-year. The prices of pork rose in 27 provinces including Shandong, Anhui, Henan, Hainan and Zhejiang, fell in Xinjiang and Qinghai, and remained flat in Ningxia. The price in South China was relatively high, at 26.38 CNY per kilogram; the price in Northeast China was relatively low, at 19.18 CNY per kilogram.

Prices of poultry products. The national average price of eggs was 8.59 CNY per kilogram, up 0.2% from the previous week and down 22.5% year on year. The price of eggs in 10 major producing provinces including Hebei and Liaoning was 7.20 CNY per kilogram, up 0.6% from the previous week and down 28.4% year on year. The national average price of chicken was 22.30 CNY per kilogram, the same as the previous week and down 5.0% year on year. The average price of commercial layer chicks was 3.47 CNY each, the same as the previous week and down 14.5% year on year. The average price of commercial broiler chicks was 3.38 CNY each, down 0.9% from the previous week and down 3.2% year on year.

Prices of cattle and sheep products. The national average price of beef was 71.40 CNY per kilogram, up 0.1% from the previous week and 8.3% year-on-year. The price of beef in 10 major producing provinces such as Hebei and Inner Mongolia was 65.28 CNY per kilogram, up 0.2% from the previous week. The price of live cattle in major producing provinces was 26.52 CNY per kilogram, down 0.1% from the previous week and up 16.8% year-on-year. The national average price of mutton was 71.90 CNY per kilogram, up 0.2% from the previous week and 2.9% year-on-year. The price of mutton in 10 major producing provinces such as Hebei and Inner Mongolia was 69.61 CNY per kilogram, up 0.2% from the previous week. The price of live sheep in major producing provinces was 30.26 CNY per kilogram, up 0.4% from the previous week and 4.3% year-on-year.

Raw milk price. The average price of raw milk in 10 major producing provinces including Inner Mongolia and Hebei was 3.03 CNY per kilogram, the same as the previous week, down 2.9% year-on-year.

Feed prices. The national average price of corn was 2.44 CNY per kilogram, up 0.4% from the previous week and 6.6% year-on-year. The price of corn in the three northeastern provinces, the main producing areas, was 2.27 CNY per kilogram, up 0.4% from the previous week; the price of corn in Guangdong Province, a major consuming area, was 2.50 CNY per kilogram, the same as the previous week. The national average price of soybean meal was 3.31 CNY per kilogram, up 0.3% from the previous week and 2.5% year-on-year. The average price of compound feed for fattening pigs was 3.36 CNY per kilogram, the same as the previous week and up 0.3% year-on-year. The average price of compound feed for broilers was 3.50 CNY per kilogram, the same as the previous week and up 0.9% year-on-year. The average price of compound feed for laying hens was 3.22 CNY per kilogram, the same as the previous week and up 1.3% year-on-year.
