SunSirs:Malaysia's Natural Rubber Production Continues to Decline in October 2022

According to the Malaysian Bureau of Statistics on December 14, the export volume of natural rubber in October 2022 fell by 33.2% year-on-year to 41,548 tons, and fell by 23.8% month-on-month. Among them, 56.2% are exported to China, followed by Germany 8.2%, Brazil 3.3%, Finland 3.2%, and Iran 3%.

In October, Malaysia imported 79,233 tons of natural rubber, down 18.5% year-on-year and 6.8% month-on-month. Standard rubber, concentrated latex, and natural rubber in other shapes are the main import categories, and their main import sources are Thailand, Côte d'Ivoire, the Philippines, and Myanmar.

In October, the total output of natural rubber that can be monitored was 31,795 tons, down 26.3% year-on-year and 10.3% month-on-month. Among them, the production of small gardens accounted for 87.8%, and the production of state-owned plantations accounted for 12.2%.

In October, Malaysia's natural rubber inventory was 198,122 tons, down 0.3% month-on-month and 29.7% year-on-year. Among them, 90.8% of the inventory is concentrated in the hands of rubber processors, the downstream terminal inventory accounts for 9.1%, and the inventory of large planters accounts for 0.1%.

In October, the total domestic natural rubber consumption decreased by 34.5% year-on-year to 28,494 tons, and decreased by 1.9% month-on-month. The latex glove industry is still the main force of natural rubber consumption in Malaysia, accounting for 70.5% of consumption, 8.1% of tire and hose consumption, 8.5% of rubber thread, and 12.9% of other industries.
