Macroeconomics
1. [Logistics Industry Prosperity Index] According to the China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing, the China Logistics Industry Prosperity Index in January was 51.2%, with the business volume index, new orders index, logistics service price index, fixed asset investment completion index, employment index, and business activity expectation index all above the 50% expansion threshold.
2. [Automobiles] According to preliminary statistics from the China Passenger Car Association, the estimated wholesale sales of new energy passenger vehicles in China in January were 900,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 1%. Of these, Tesla China's wholesale sales were 69,129 units, a year-on-year increase of 9.3%.
3. [US ADP Employment] US ADP employment increased by 22,000 in January, lower than the market expectation of 48,000.
4. [Eurozone CPI] The Eurozone's CPI only rose by 1.7% year-on-year in January, the lowest level since September 2024. Core CPI fell to 2.2%, the lowest since October 2021. Services inflation slowed to 3.2%. The market expects the European Central Bank to remain on hold this week.
Plastics and Rubber
1. [PE] On February 4th, Maoming Petrochemical (South China Branch) reported LDPE 2426H at 8,900 RMB/ton, a decrease of 100 RMB/ton.
2. [HDPE] In January 2026, the loss of polyethylene production due to plant maintenance decreased by 4.0% month-on-month, but increased by 58.48% compared to the same period last year.
3. [Natural Rubber] On February 4th, the natural rubber market in Shanghai showed a rebound, with spot traders raising their offers by 100-200 RMB/ton. The mainstream price for 2024 Yunbao/Guangkeng was 16,100-16,300 RMB/ton; the mainstream price for 2024 Haibao was 16,200-16,400 RMB/ton; and the mainstream price for Vietnam 3L was 16,450-16,600 RMB/ton.
4. [Natural Rubber] On February 4th, the natural rubber raw material market in Thailand remained stable with some increases: smoked sheet was reported at 62.20 Thai baht/kg, stable; latex at 58.80 Thai baht/kg, stable; and cup lump at 54.20 Thai baht/kg, an increase of 0.20 Thai baht/kg.
5. [Natural Rubber] The latest data shows that in January 2026, Côte d'Ivoire's natural rubber exports were 163,000 tons, a decrease of 1.8% compared to 166,000 tons in the same period last year, and a decrease of 5.8% month-on-month.
