Price trend

According to the monitoring of SunSirs, the sales price of sulphuric acid in Shandong dropped this week. The quotation dropped from 317.50 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week to 305.00 RMB/ton at the weekend, a decrease of 3.94%. On the whole, the sulphuric acid market fell this week, and the sulphuric acid commodity index on January 22 was 47.47.

Analysis review  

Judging from the manufacturers' quotations, the prices of mainstream sulfuric acid manufacturers in Shandong region fell this week, the manufacturers' inventory was large, and the downstream demand was general. Heze Jiangyuan’s weekend price was 450 RMB/ton, compared with the beginning of the week, the price fell by 10 RMB/ton; Zouping Tianlu’s weekend price was 300 RMB/ton, compared with the beginning of the week, the price rose by 10 RMB/ton; Jinan Yuanfei quoted 350 RMB/ton, compared with the beginning of the week, the quotation fell by 50 RMB/ton; Taiyuan Kunshengda quoted 120 RMB/ton on the weekend, compared with the beginning of the week, the quotation was temporarily stable.

From the perspective of the upstream and downstream industry chain, the upstream sulfur market rose slightly recently, and the cost support was good. The downstream market for ammonium biphosphate, DAP and bromine rose slightly, which had a positive impact on sulfuric acid.

Market outlook

In late January, the sulfuric acid market in Shandong may fluctuate mainly. The upstream sulphur price has consolidated at a high level recently, and the downward trend is relatively good. The downstream sulphuric acid purchase enthusiasm is normal, and the product trend is upward due to the contradiction between supply and demand. The sulphuric acid analyst of SunSirs believes that under the influence of supply and demand and raw materials in the short-term Shandong market, the sulphuric acid market may fluctuate up slightly.
