Price trend

The price of acrylic acid in the market was mainly stable this week. According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, as of December 15th, the average quoted price of acrylic acid in the East China region was 6,200.00 RMB/ton, which was unchanged from Monday's price.

Factors affecting the price of acrylic acid:

Cost side: According to the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs, on December 14th, the reference price for propylene was 7,010.75 RMB/ton, a decrease of 1.34% compared to December 1st (7105.75 RMB/ton). Recently, the raw material propylene market had slightly improved, and there was still cost pressure on acrylic acid.

Supply and demand side: Some units in the northern part of the supply side had restarted, increasing the supply of acrylic acid in the market. The operating rate of butyl acrylate in the downstream had slightly increased, the utilization rate of water treatment capacity had decreased, and the utilization rate of SAP resin capacity wa stable. Downstream enterprises mainly consumed inventory, and their enthusiasm for purchasing acrylic acid was relatively weak. New orders in the market were limited, and some holders were offering discounts to ship. The atmosphere of the acrylic acid market was light.

Market outlook

The acrylic acid analyst from SunSirs believes that there was still support on the cost side, and the supply and demand side was weaker.
