Customs data shows that in November 2025, domestic imports of rapeseed oil amounted to 170,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 16.8%.
The year-on-year decrease of 16.8% in rapeseed oil imports in November 2025 indicates a tightening of domestic supply, which is favorable for the rise in spot prices. Based on futures data, the settlement price of rapeseed oil main contract 2605 is 9,078 RMB/ton, with an increase in holdings of 5503 lots, indicating an improvement in market expectations and supporting the upward trend of futures prices in the supply-demand pattern.
The reduction in rapeseed oil imports may lead to a decrease in pressing activities, resulting in a decrease in the supply of rapeseed meal as a by-product, which is favorable for spot prices. The settlement price of futures contract 2605 is 2,365 RMB/ton, with a trading volume of 271,120 lots and an increase in open interest of 13,230 lots, reflecting the market's positive response to supply contraction. Futures prices are supported by fundamentals.
The reduction in rapeseed oil imports may increase the demand for rapeseed, which can be used for domestic pressing to make up for the supply gap and benefit the rise in spot prices. The expectation of increased demand will boost market sentiment and support price increases.
