SunSirs: Market Price Situation of Livestock Products and Feeds

According to the monitoring of 500 county-level markets and collection points across the country, the prices of eggs, beef cattle, sheep, and layer feed increased month-on-month in the second week of September ( collection date was September 11th), while the prices of pig products, commercial broiler chicks decreased month-on-month, and the prices of chicken, raw milk, corn, soybean meal, fattening pig feed, and broiler feed remained unchanged month-on-month.

Pig product prices. The national average price of piglets was 30.96 RMB per kilogram, down 3.3% week-on-week and 26.5% year-on-year. Piglet prices increased in Qinghai, while they decreased in 27 provinces including Shanghai, Tianjin, Zhejiang, Fujian, and Shaanxi, and remained unchanged in Ningxia. The price was higher in the South China region, at 32.89 RMB per kilogram; it was lower in the Northeast region, at 29.47 RMB per kilogram. The national average price of live pigs was 14.10 RMB per kilogram, down 1.3% week-on-week and 29.7% year-on-year. Live pig prices increased in Hainan, Qinghai, and Chongqing, and decreased in 27 provinces including Guangdong, Shanghai, Guangxi, Heilongjiang, and Anhui. The price was higher in the South China region, at 15.20 RMB per kilogram; it was lower in the Northeast region, at 13.32 RMB per kilogram. The national average price of pork was 24.70 RMB per kilogram, down 0.5% week-on-week and 22.1% year-on-year. Pork prices increased in Beijing, Xinjiang, Shaanxi, Hainan, Guizhou, and other 7 provinces, and decreased in 21 provinces including Heilongjiang, Inner Mongolia, Shandong, Ningxia, and Jiangxi. The price was higher in the South China region, at 27.65 RMB per kilogram; it was lower in the Northeast region, at 21.35 RMB per kilogram.

Poultry product prices. The national average price of eggs is 9.00 RMB/kg, up 1.6% week-on-week and down 23.3% year-on-year. The egg prices in Hebei, Liaoning and other 10 major producing provinces are 7.75 RMB/kg, up 2.5% week-on-week and down 31.5% year-on-year. The national average price of chicken is 22.51 RMB/kg, unchanged from the previous week and down 5.7% year-on-year. The average price of commercial egg chicks is 3.74 RMB/chick, down 0.5% week-on-week and down 3.4% year-on-year. The average price of commercial meat chicks is 3.47 RMB/chick, down 0.3% week-on-week and down 3.9% year-on-year.

Prices of beef and mutton products. The national average price of beef was 70.67 RMB per kilogram, up 0.2 percent week-on-week and up 3.4 percent year-on-year. The price of beef in Hebei, Inner Mongolia and other 10 major producing provinces was 64.91 RMB per kilogram, up 0.1 percent week-on-week. The live cattle price in major producing provinces was 27.16 RMB per kilogram, up 0.1 percent week-on-week and up 10.9 percent year-on-year. The national average price of mutton was 69.30 RMB per kilogram, up 0.1 percent week-on-week and down 1.5 percent year-on-year. The mutton price in Hebei, Inner Mongolia and other 10 major producing provinces was 66.96 RMB per kilogram, up 0.1 percent week-on-week. The live sheep price in major producing provinces was 28.96 RMB per kilogram, up 0.2 percent week-on-week and up 0.4 percent year-on-year.

Fresh milk price.Inner Mongolia, Hebei and other10 major producing provinces, the average price of fresh milk is 3.03 RMB per kilogram, unchanged from the previous week, down 3.5% year-on-year.

Feed prices. The national average price of corn is 2.49 RMB per kilogram, unchanged from the previous week, down 0.8% year-on-year. The corn price in the main production areas of Northeast China is 2.33 RMB per kilogram, up 0.9% from the previous week; the corn price in the main consumption areas of Guangdong Province is 2.54 RMB per kilogram, down 0.4% from the previous week. The national average price of soybean meal is 3.31 RMB per kilogram, unchanged from the previous week, down 2.6% year-on-year. The average price of compound feed for fattening pigs is 3.40 RMB per kilogram, unchanged from the previous week, down 1.7% year-on-year. The average price of compound feed for broilers is 3.51 RMB per kilogram, unchanged from the previous week, down 1.7% year-on-year. The average price of compound feed for layer chickens is 3.24 RMB per kilogram, up 0.3% from the previous week, down 1.2% year-on-year.
