SunSirs: Weak Demand, China PS Prices is Falling

According to the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs, the average PS quotation at the beginning of this week was 9,600 RMB/ton, and the average PS price over the weekend was 9,566 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.35% and a decrease of 1.71% compared to the same period last year.

The PS (polystyrene) market is stable and declining, with mainstream brand prices excluding taxes. For reference, Zhenjiang Qimei PG33 is priced at 9,600 RMB/ton, Taiwan Taihua 5250 is priced at 9,470 RMB/ton, Ningbo Taihua 535N is priced at 9,270 RMB/ton, Shanghai Secco 123P is priced at 9,050 RMB/ton, Thai Petrochemical 150 is priced at 9,040-9,050 RMB/ton, and Guangzhou Petrochemical 525 is priced at 8,920-8,950 RMB/ton.

The raw material styrene has closed higher, with increased costs. The PS market may have an intention to raise prices, and downstream demand is weak. It is expected that the price of modified benzene in the East China market will be around 8,750-9,450 RMB/ton, while the mainstream GPPS market price in the South China region is set at 8,850 RMB/ton.

The cost support for PS is weak, and demand is weak. It is expected that the domestic PS (polystyrene) price will mainly fluctuate downward in the short term.
