Price trend

Recently (7.15-7.25), the vinyl cyanide market slightly declined. According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, as of July 25th, the price of bulk vinyl cyanide in the market was 8,025 RMB/ton, a decrease of 1.38% from 8,137 RMB/ton in the middle of the month. As of July 25, the self delivered price of vinyl cyanide in the market was between 7,900 to 8,100 RMB/ton. The raw material prices had slightly fluctuated and increased, with limited support for vinyl cyanide; The low starting rate of downstream fluctuated slightly, resulting in limited demand for vinyl cyanide; The supply side slightly declined, providing weak support for the vinyl cyanide market. After rising in the first half of the month, the price of vinyl cyanide was sluggish and slightly declined recently.

Analysis review

Recently (7.15-7.25), the operating rate of domestic vinyl cyanide had slightly decreased to below 60%. The Fushun vinyl cyanide plant was shut down for maintenance in mid July.

Recently (7.15-7.25), the raw material propylene market experienced slight fluctuations and rose, with weak cost support for vinyl cyanide. According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, as of July 25th, the domestic propylene price was at 6,595 RMB/ton, an increase of 1.15% from the mid-month price of 6,520 RMB/ton. It is understood that downstream ABS prices had risen this week, and the start of construction was around 8.2%; Part of the acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber plant of Lanzhou Chemical was restarted, and the industry started to increase slightly recently, while the acrylic fiber started to maintain a low level. Overall, the construction of downstream units in multiple industries of vinyl cyanide was in a low and slightly fluctuating state, demand sides had support for vinyl cyanide but still weak in the short term.

Market outlook

Vinyl cyanide analysts from SunSirs believe that the supply side pressure has slightly eased, the demand side has support, but it is difficult to significantly strengthen, and the cost side support is limited. It is expected that the vinyl cyanide market will fluctuate slightly in the short term.
