SunSirs: Refrigerant Market Prices Rose Across the Board in August
September 01 2022 08:48:40SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to the monitoring data of SunSirs, the average price of refrigerant R22 on August 31 was 17,500.00 RMB/ton, an increase of 2.94% compared with the price at the beginning of the month of 17,000.00 RMB/ton, and a decrease of 10.26% compared with the same period last year.

According to the monitoring data of SunSirs, on August 31, the average price of refrigerant R134a was 24,333.33 RMB/ton, an increase of 8.15% compared with the price at the beginning of the month of 22,500.00 RMB/ton, and an increase of 8.96% compared with the same period last year.

Analysis review

In August, the refrigerant R22 was running strongly on the whole, and the quotation prices of enterprises continued to rise. The price of the raw material chloroform increased by 4.63% in the month as a whole, and the overall price of hydrofluoric acid fell by 0.09% in the month. Raw material costs rebounded slightly, and R22 prices continued to rise as a whole under the support of costs and demand.

In August, the price of upstream raw material hydrofluoric acid was generally weak and stable, and the price of trichloroethylene increased by nearly 10% in the month. In addition, summer is the traditional peak season for refrigerant demand. The price of domestic refrigerant R134a continued to rise in August under the support of rising costs and undiminished demand.

In terms of raw materials, the domestic hydrofluoric acid price trend in August was generally weak and stabilized and then rebounded slightly. The slight rebound in upstream raw material costs will support the price of R134a in the future.

Market outlook

Refrigerant analysts of SunSirs believe that the overall cost of raw materials is rising. In August, some domestic enterprises stopped work and maintenance, which led to the overall low inventory of enterprises. The overall downstream demand was not reduced. Under the support of cost and demand, it is expected that domestic R22 and R134a prices will continue to run strongly in September.
