SunSirs: Cost Support Was Loosed, Potassium Sulfate Was Stable and Weak
July 04 2022 15:49:58SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to the data of SunSirs, the domestic potassium sulfate market was high and strong this week, and the changes in the spot prices were limited. As of July 1, the average price of domestic potassium sulfate 50 grain samples was 5,566.67 RMB/ton, a change of 0% compared with the average price at the beginning of the week.

Analysis review

This week, the momentum of the domestic potash fertilizer market weakened, and the operating rate of potash Mannheim-type enterprises stabilized. The overall operating rate was about 45%, and the supply in the field was tight.

In terms of potassium chloride, the domestic potassium price was stable with some decline. The purchase of potassium chloride by downstream enterprises such as potassium carbonate and potassium nitrate slowed down. At the same time, the arrival of border trade had surged, the supply of potassium chloride was expected to increase, spot quotations were loosened, and the support for processing potassium sulfate enterprises was weakened.

At present, the quotation in the potassium sulfate market is temporarily stable, the new orders of potassium sulfate are relatively few, the trading is normal, and the inventory in the market is rising.

Market outlook

The potassium sulfate analyst of SunSirs believes that the domestic potassium sulfate market was high and firm this week, and the potassium chloride market was down. The cost support of domestic potassium sulfate was loosed, the demand side follow-up was general, and the supply side maintained a flat-to-tight pattern. It is expected that the domestic potassium sulfate price may turn down in the short term due to falling costs and weaker demand.
