According to the data monitoring of SunSirs, this week (March 4-11), the vinyl cyanide market fell first and then rose. As of March 11, the price of vinyl cyanide was 11,700 RMB/ton, down 0.51% from last Friday's 11,760 RMB/tonThe low price of vinyl cyanide in the week was 11,620 RMB/ton.

Analysis review

The domestic supply of vinyl cyanide is still mainly loose, but Jilin Petrochemical, Keluer, Shanghai Secco, Shandong Haijiang and other companies plan to overhaul their vinyl cyanide units in mid-to-late March, boosting the market’s bullish atmosphere. As of March 11, the mainstream of vinyl cyanide market offers in East China is between 11,500 and 12,200 RMB/ton.

The price of raw material propylene rose slightly this week, and the cost side had support for vinyl cyanide. According to the monitoring of SunSirs, as of March 11, the domestic price of propylene was 9,062 RMB/ton, up 0.50% from the price of 9,017 RMB/ton on last Friday.

Downstream markets such as ABS, vinyl cyanide-butadiene rubber, and acrylic fiber were generally in general sales, with stable start-up mainly, and had a certain rigid support for vinyl cyanide.

Market outlook

The vinyl cyanide analyst of SunSirs believes that although the new plant is put into operation and the supply pressure is high, some enterprises have maintenance plans in March and April. It is expected that the pressure on the supply side will ease in the later period, coupled with the support of the demand side, the price of vinyl cyanide will continue to rise in the later period.
