Price trend

As can be seen from the above figure, the domestic price of hydrochloric acid fell slightly this week. The quotation dropped from 324.00 RMB/ton last weekend to 276.00 RMB/ton this weekend, a decrease of 14.81%, and a year-on-year increase of 47.20%. Overall, the domestic hydrochloric acid market fell slightly this week.

On January 23, the hydrochloric acid commodity index was 72.63, the same as previous day, down 47.33% from the highest point in the cycle (137.89 points on 2021-10-26), and up 303.95% from the lowest point of 17.98 points on September 05, 2012. (Note: The cycle refers to 2011-09-01 to the present)

Analysis review

Judging from the quotations from manufacturers, the domestic market price of hydrochloric acid fell slightly this week. Dezhou Shihua’s hydrochloric acid was quoted at 300 RMB/ton this weekend, which was down by 200 RMB/ton compared with last weekend; Wenshui Synthetic’s hydrochloric acid was quoted at 290 RMB/ton this weekend, which was temporarily stable compared with last weekend; Dezhou Maihua’s hydrochloric acid was quoted at 50 RMB/ton this weekend, which was temporarily stable compared with last weekend; Liaocheng Huatong’s hydrochloric acid was quoted at 90 RMB/ton this weekend, down by 90 RMB/ton compared with last weekend; Xiangcheng San'an’s hydrochloric acid was quoted at 650 RMB/ton this weekend, an increase of 50 RMB/ton compared with last weekend.

From the perspective of the upstream and downstream industrial chain of hydrochloric acid, the upstream liquid chlorine market fell slightly, which weakened the support for hydrochloric acid. The price of downstream PAC rose slightly, the quotation rose from 2,445.56 RMB/ton last weekend to 2,467.78 RMB/ton this weekend, an increase of 0.91%.The increase was not large, mainly finishing, up 37.64% compared with the same period last year. The market price of ammonium chloride fell slightly, and the quotation fell from 1,087.50 RMB/ton at the end of last week to 1,075.00 RMB/ton at the end of this week, a decrease of 1.15%.On the whole, downstream products were not very enthusiastic about the purchase of hydrochloric acid, which had a negative impact on the price of hydrochloric acid.

Market outlook

The upstream liquid chlorine market fell recently, and the cost support was general. The downstream PAC and ammonium chloride market prices fell slightly, and the downstream purchase intention weakened.
