According to the Information and Statistics Department of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, the nonferrous metals industry has maintained overall reasonable growth in production, with fixed-asset investment sustaining steady growth momentum.
In October, the value-added output of nonferrous metals industries above designated size increased by 4.0% year-on-year in real terms (all growth rates represent real growth after adjusting for price factors, same below); From January to October, the value-added of nonferrous metal industries above designated size increased by 7.4% year-on-year in real terms, 0.4 percentage points lower than the growth rate for the first three quarters, but 1.3 percentage points higher than the growth rate of industrial value-added above designated size.
By industry, in October, the value-added of nonferrous metal mining and beneficiation increased by 6.2% year-on-year in real terms, while that of nonferrous metal smelting and rolling processing increased by 3.7%. From January to October, the nonferrous metal mining and beneficiation sector grew by 7.7%, narrowing by 0.2 percentage points compared to the first three quarters, while the nonferrous metal smelting and rolling processing sector grew by 7.3%, narrowing by 0.5 percentage points compared to the first three quarters.
By product, in October, the output of ten nonferrous metals reached 6.954 million tons, up 2.9% year-on-year. Among them, primary aluminum (electrolytic aluminum) output was 3.798 million tons, increasing by 0.4%. From January to October, output of ten nonferrous metals reached 68.143 million tons, up 3.1% year-on-year, with the growth rate expanding by 0.1 percentage points compared to the first three quarters. Primary aluminum (electrolytic aluminum) accounted for 37.753 million tons, growing by 2.0%.
From January to October, national industrial fixed-asset investment grew by 4.9% year-on-year. Investment in the nonferrous metals industry increased by 8.3%, exceeding the national industrial investment growth rate by 3.4 percentage points. Within this sector, investment in nonferrous metal mining and beneficiation surged by 47.0%, while investment in nonferrous metal smelting and rolling processing decreased by 1.5%.
