SunSirs: Global Natural Rubber Production Expected to Decrease 0.7% in August, Consumption to Fall 1%
October 09 2025 14:49:23SunSirs(Selena)

ANRPC's latest August 2025 report predicts that global natural rubber production in August is expected to fall 0.7% to 1.379 million tons, a 3.8% increase from the previous month; natural rubber consumption is expected to fall 1% to 1.256 million tons, a 0.8% increase from the previous month. For the first eight months, cumulative global natural rubber production is expected to decline slightly by 0.03% to 8.856 million tons, while cumulative consumption is expected to fall 0.6% to 10.146 million tons.

Global natural rubber production is expected to increase 0.5% year-on-year to 14.892 million tons in 2025. Among these, production will increase by 1.2% in Thailand, decrease by 9.8% in Indonesia, increase by 6% in China, increase by 5.6% in India, decrease by 1.3% in Vietnam, decrease by 4.2% in Malaysia, increase by 5.6% in Cambodia, increase by 5.3% in Myanmar, and increase by 3.5% in other countries.

Global natural rubber consumption is expected to increase 1.3% year-on-year to 15.565 million tons in 2025. Among them, prices in China increased by 2.5%, India by 3.4%, Thailand by 6.1%, Indonesia by 7%, Malaysia by 2.6%, Vietnam by 1.5%, Sri Lanka by 6.7%, Cambodia by a significant 110.3%, and other countries by 3.5%.

The report noted that natural rubber prices in August fluctuated due to a variety of factors, including limited supply and improved demand. Seasonal factors boosted consumption, particularly in China, where reduced inventories at major ports indicated improved demand. However, rainfall in producing areas and labor shortages limited tapping activities, tightening supply.

In addition, with growing buying interest, especially with the arrival of the traditional peak season for natural rubber, market sentiment has become increasingly optimistic, particularly for all-steel and heavy-duty truck tires.
