The Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC) stated that due to restocking activities before the arrival of summer and the recovery of palm oil prices relative to soybean oil, demand for palm oil from Chinese and Indian buyers may increase.

MPOC stated that China will increase palm oil imports in May and June to replenish inventory, as palm oil consumption is typically higher during the summer season. Indian buyers will also use current prices to replenish depleted inventory.
