According to price monitoring data from SunSirs, as of August 17, 2023, the reference price for domestic n-propanol was 7,866 RMB/ton. Compared to August 1, 2023 (reference price for n-propanol was 7,733 RMB/ton), the price increased by 133 RMB/ton, an increase of 1.72%.

Analysis review

From the data monitoring chart of SunSirs, it can be seen that in early August (8.1-8.17), the overall market situation of n-propanol in China showed a fluctuating and upward trend. In early August, some suppliers of n-propanol in Shandong slightly lowered the price of n-propanol by around 100 RMB/ton based on their own inventory and shipment situation. Starting from August 4th, driven by the increase in n-propanol prices by Shandong large factories, some suppliers had also actively followed the trend. Downstream demand for n-propanol was relatively stable, the supply and demand transmission was normal, and the supply and demand support was still acceptable. As of August 17th, the cumulative increase in n-propanol prices in Shandong region was around 100-300 RMB/ton, and the market price of n-propanol in Shandong region was around 7,100-7,600 RMB/ton. The market for n-propanol in Nanjing was relatively stable, and the market price for n-propanol was around 9,000 RMB/ton. Distributors in different regions still had reservations about prices, and the difficulty in monitoring prices might lead to differences in specific negotiation situations. Each region also had differences, and the actual order is mainly based on negotiation.

Market outlook

As of August 17th, the overall trading atmosphere in the n-propanol market was mild, with normal trading of new orders on the market. The downstream demand for n-propanol was relatively stable, the overall procurement was mainly on demand or small-scale stocking being the main focus.
