SunSirs: Hydrogenated Benzene Market Declined in January 2020
February 06 2020 11:31:13SunSirs(John)

Price trend

In January 2020, the hydrogenated benzene market fell in shock. The factory price in North China was 5,700 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month and 5,533.33 RMB/ton at the end of the month, with a monthly decline of 2.92%.

Market Analysis

Domestic market: the pressure of hydrogenated benzene enterprises was still the same in January, and the price of crude benzene in the upstream fluctuated lower. Since January, the road transportation cost increased, the difficulty of factory shipment had increased, and the price of domestic hydrogenated benzene dropped from a high level. In terms of profit, since the heating season in 2019, coking enterprises have limited production, and the profit space of hydrogenated benzene has been gradually reduced to below the cost line. This month, subject to the main factors such as transportation, the overall price fluctuated downward, with a monthly drop of 150-170 RMB/ton.

Industry chain: Pure benzene: The inventory of pure benzene near the Spring Festival has accumulated. Downstream stock replenishment is over, traders are basically short of stocks, coupled with insufficient crude oil support, pure benzene is weak this week. Downstream: Styrene prices are more stable than last week. Aniline was stocked before and after the holiday, and shipments were smooth, raising prices. Most of the downstream products of pure benzene are at a theoretical production loss and insufficient support for the price of pure benzene.

Market outlook

Restricted by the increase of transportation cost in January, the overall turnover of hydrogenated benzene market is limited, and the price fluctuation after the festival is limited.
