According to the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs, the domestic price of sodium metabisulfite was weaker this week. The average price of industrial sodium metabisulfite at the beginning of the week was 2,033.33 RMB/ton, and the average price at the weekend was 2,000.00 RMB/ton, down 1.64% in the week.

Analysis review

In June, the price of domestic soda ash continued to decline in a weak way, and under the low pressure of raw material cost, the manufacturers successively lowered the ex factory price. This week, the market price range of industrial sodium metabisulfite was 1,900-2,300 RMB/ton, and most prices were concentrated around 1,900-2,200 RMB/ton. Downstream trading entities had a strong wait-and-see attitude, with enterprises mainly completing orders from old customers.

As of June 16, the price of domestic soda ash remained weak, falling by 6.25% in the month, and the price of sulfur rose slightly, rising by 2.06% in the month. On the whole, the continuous weak downward trend of upstream raw material cost will further suppress the future sodium metabisulfite market price.

Market outlook

Analysts from SunSirs believe that the cost of raw materials continued to decline, and the domestic market price of sodium metabisulfite will continue to be under pressure in the short term.
