SunSirs: Asia's Crude Oil Import Volume Hit a Record High in January
February 03 2023 13:34:54()

According to foreign news on February 2, data from the Petroleum Research Corporation showed that Asian crude oil imports hit a record high in January, up 11% from December last year.

In January, the total import of Asian crude oil increased 11.1% month-on-month to 29.13 million barrels per day. The data showed that the import volume of Asian crude oil last month exceeded the record of last November, when the import volume of Asian crude oil was 29.1 million barrels per day.

India's crude oil imports jumped to a record high of 5.29 million barrels per day in January and 4.78 million barrels per day in December. India is the third largest importer in the world and the second largest importer in the region. South Korea and Singapore also imported more crude oil in January than last month.

Analysts said that in the future, China will become an uncertain factor in the import of Asian crude oil and the international oil market.

The International Energy Agency (IEA) said in the Oil Market Report in January that the global oil demand will increase by 1.9 million barrels per day in 2023, reaching a record 101.7 million barrels per day, of which nearly half of the growth comes from China.

The agency pointed out: "Although the situation and speed of reopening are still uncertain, China will drive nearly half of the global demand growth."
