Russian wheat exports could reach 3.6 million tonnes in January 2023, according to Russian railway operator Rusagrotrans Analysis Center. This would be the fourth straight month of record levels.
According to the analysis center, Russian wheat exports (including exports to the Eurasian Economic Union) in January 2023 may reach 3.6 million tons, which would be the highest level for the same period in history. In fact, since October 2022, Russia's wheat exports have hit record highs in a row. At present, the application for grain export in the deep-water port alone exceeds 3.2 million tons.
The analysis center estimated Russian wheat exports in December 2022 at 4.35 million tonnes, up from an earlier assessment of 4.2-4.3 million tonnes, as exports to Eurasian Economic Union countries have grown since mid-December.
