December 03 2021 13:19:39     SunSirs (John)

Price trend

According to the monitoring of the bulk data of SunSirs, the price of acetic acid rose first and then fell in November. The price of acetic acid at the beginning of the month was 6,730 RMB/ton, and the price of acetic acid at the end of the month was 6,680 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.74%.The price increased by 96.47% year-on-year, and the highest price in the month was 7,230 RMB/ton, an increase of 7.43% from the beginning of the month.

Analysis review

In November, the acetic acid market first rose and then fell. In the first half of November, the market consolidated and went up. The inventory of acetic acid companies on the market was digested smoothly, the price intention was strong, and the quotations continued to rise slightly. Downstream procurement activities had increased, and acetic acid manufacturers had been actively shipping products, pushing market prices upward. In late November, the domestic acetic acid plant was operating normally. Although there were enterprise equipment overhauled, there were many stocks in the early stage to maintain sufficient supply of the acetic acid market; while downstream demand had entered the off-season, and purchases in the market were dominated by rigid demand. Acetic acid manufacturers had negotiated shipments, the focus of transactions had shifted downward, and market prices had continued to fall.

The downstream price of EA fluctuated downward in November. As of November 30, the price was 9,550 RMB/ton, a decrease of 1.04% compared with the price of 9,650 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month. The demand for EA in November did not fluctuate much, and the market remained stable. The price fluctuations were mostly affected by costs and the supply side. During the month, the main manufacturers of EA gradually improved from the preliminary maintenance to the start of construction. The enterprises adjusted their quotations according to their own shipments, and the EA market gradually decreased.

Market outlook

The acetic acid analyst of SunSirs believes that the downstream demand continues to be weak, the domestic acetic acid market is adequately supplied, and the oversupply situation is maintained for a short time. The market outlook for acetic acid is expected to be weakly consolidated, with specific attention to downstream transactions.
