According to data from SunSirs’ bulk list, the average price of TDI in East China on the 9th was 15,933.33 RMB/ton, an increase of 7.17% from previous day and an increase of 24.48% from last year. The TDI Commodity Index on September 9 was 84.30, an increase of 5.64 points from previous day, a decrease of 66.01% from the highest point in the cycle of 248.02 points (2016-10-19), and an increase of 60.39% from the lowest point of 52.56 on May 05, 2020. (Note: Period refers to 2011-09-01 to present).
Analysis review
The domestic TDI market is going up strongly, foreign TDI factories have installed force majeure, and the listed prices of factories have been raised sharply. Dealers' quotations have been adjusted sharply, and downstream sponges and other products have followed up on the rise, giving the market reverse support. The market players are cautious, and they tend to absorb the increase, and there are fewer high-priced transactions. On the upstream side, toluene prices rose slightly, port stocks were high, and market supply remained surplus. However, the downstream demand for blending oil and solvents showed signs of improvement. Toluene demand improved slightly, and the overall supply and demand situation tended to balance.
Market outlook
At present, the domestic TDI market is trending strongly. After the factory guide prices have been substantially increased, dealers followed the offer to a high level, and the downstream also gave the market reverse support. The domestic TDI market continues to operate strongly in the short-term, and pay attention to downstream follow-up.
