At the beginning of the week, the average price of first-class corn starch for consumption was RMB 2,836.67/ton, and the average price at the end of the week was RMB 2,823.23/ton, a slight decrease of 0.47%.

2. Market Analysis

Entering August, the high premium of the State Reserve’s auction sales has eased, and the transaction price has fallen from the previous month. The corn auction fever has declined slightly. The downstream deep processing companies have accordingly reduced the corn purchase price. The corn price in the production and sales area has dropped slightly, and the cost of raw materials has dropped slightly. After the decline, manufacturers will lower the ex-factory price of starch.

On August 20, 2020, the National Grain and Material Reserve Bureau Grain Trade Coordination Center and the networked provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities) National Grain Trade Center organized the National Temporary Storage Corn Bidding Fair, and planned to be listed on the National Reserve 2014, 2015 National Reserve Heilongjiang , Jilin, Liaoning, and Inner Mongolia, three provinces and one district, 3,999,583 tons of corn, 3,999,583 tons of transactions, 100.00% of the transaction, the highest price of 2200 yuan / ton, the lowest price of 1760 yuan / ton, the average transaction price of 1959 yuan / ton.
